Learning about "Life Sucks Disease" at Workforce Strategy

“We have to change the definition of health to include life. When life is hard, health goes wrong.” – Alexandra Drane at Workforce Strategy 2019.

While we all spend a lot of energy promoting prevention, screenings, diet and exercise, what’s really hurting us, according to this morning’s headliner Alexandra Drane, are the “unmentionables” – the things in life that cause shame and stress like our finances, strained relationships, or the heavy burden of caregiving. Alex helped us explore the burdens and life challenges that we all face but don’t speak about, with tips to make the case for developing benefits and programs that put employees (actually, HUMANS) first.

Then industry-leading companies shared their unique perspectives on data-driven partnerships, a better well-being experience, the case for investing in workers and communities and more timely topics.

From the main stage this afternoon are two much-anticipated sessions: “Right Audience. Right Message. Big Impact. How Segmentation Can Drive Successful Health Interventions for Your Most Vulnerable Employee Populations” and “I don’t need a therapist!” Mental Health Strategies to Support Employees Suffering in Silence. During both, attendees will learn how to help (and engage) employees in moments that matter most.

We’ll end again on a high note with the opportunity to make new connections at the exclusive Beach Island Luau hosted by Aon.

Check back tomorrow for takeaways from our final day in San Diego!
