Hepatitis B is a virus that causes up to 80% of liver cancer worldwide. It most often impacts people of working age between 35-65 years old. Since July 2015, 40 leading companies are actively engaged in the JoinJade Employer Collaborative, (JJEC) marking a widespread commitment to create awareness and build workplaces free from hepatitis B discrimination. Efforts have focused on China and the San Francisco Bay area of the U.S., two locations where prevalence is high. The JJEC has helped identify undiagnosed cases of chronic hepatitis B; inform chronically infected employees about the importance of getting care to prevent liver cancer; ensure that unprotected adults are vaccinated; and build more fully inclusive workplaces. Here are the employers that are participating in this important initiative.
