International Women's Day is March 8th!

March 8 will be International Women’s Day. The theme is #PressforProgress. According to Mercer, less than 60-70% of women are in the workforce, and female representation drops as career levels rise. The World Economic Forum says that the widest gender gaps globally are in the economic and health spheres, and that at the current rate of change, the economic gap won’t close for another 170 years.

Women play an important role in the global workforce because:

  • Research shows that having a greater number of women as part of the workforce can lead to better company performance.
  • Having both men and women in decision-making roles gives organizations the perspectives they need to target all consumers and clients in an effective manner.
  • Women help fill existing talent shortages around the world, particularly in emerging markets.
